Smart insights

The analysis is done for you

The patterns your behaviour lead would spend an afternoon building in a spreadsheet are ready when you open the dashboard. Each one comes with a practical next step.

  • The busiest day, period and place
  • The at-risk students behind many incidents and how many still need a plan
  • Year groups that are rising or falling, shown only when the change is more than chance

Record what you did about each pattern. The notes go into your inspection evidence.

Smart insights: a hotspot in the playground at lunch and the at-risk students behind 45% of incidents with four still needing a plan, each with a next step and a note of what leaders did about it.

Two scores for every student

Every student, seen two ways

Behaviour Brain gives every student two separate scores: one for concerns and one for recognition. Recognition never cancels out an incident, so a serious incident is never hidden by a good week.

  • The quiet students. No incidents but little recognition. They are easy to miss and Behaviour Brain shows them.
  • Students who need a plan. When concerns pass a set level, a plan is recommended. If a student needs one and doesn't have one, your team is told.
  • Scores that move. They fall when a student improves over time.
  • Strengths to build on. A student with concerns and plenty of recognition needs a different plan from one with concerns and none.
Students grouped by their two scores in a sample school of 620: 18 at risk with few strengths, 20 at risk with strengths, 50 with early concerns, 108 quiet students, 410 steady and 14 thriving.

The whole school at a glance

Know where to look first

Incidents and recognition this week and this month, how much recognition for every incident and which year groups need your attention.

Incidents this academic year for Years 7 to 11: Year 9 up 81% on the week before, the others stable.

Follow-ups

Nothing gets lost after an incident

When an incident needs a follow-up, it has a name and a date. Staff record what they did, hand it over with a note or set the next check. The staff who need to know see every open follow-up, overdue ones first, and the person who asked is told when it is done.

  • A reminder when a follow-up is overdue
  • A running record of every step
  • Private notes kept to leaders and the staff involved
A head of year's open follow-ups: who has each one and by when, with the two overdue ones at the top.

Group focus plans

Change a whole class or year group, and see it working

Set one focus for a form or a year group. Staff record positive catches when they see it, and the plan counts incidents one school week at a time. If the group reaches its target, every student earns house points for the whole-school leaderboard.

  • A starting point and a target, counted from your own records
  • Positive catches recorded by every member of staff on the plan
  • House points shown on a leaderboard for a classroom screen
A Year 8 group focus plan: 55 incidents a week before the plan, 35 this week against a target of 39 (target reached), down 36%.
